Shoot To Win-Mechanical Craps

Setting and influencing the dice roll is just part of the picture. To beat the dice you have to know how to bet the dice. Whether you call it a "system," a "strategy," or just a way to play - this is the place to discuss it.

All I did with the machine at Gold Strike was play the don't. There where tons of pso's on that machine. I think the longest roll without a seven was eleven. Seems like there might be a little skill involved with this machine since you actually push the button to shoot. It will be interesting to check out for sure.

I lost the first few times I tried it last week. Stayed too long.

I would go by it so many times I decided to play hit and run. I put $20 in for the 4,5,9&10. One hit and quit. Did this many times.
Had a few quick seven outs but I played so many times it did not matter too much. The machine was near our elevator so I did not need to go out of my way.

Does this machine have a history of rolls that you can view?

Yes. Here's a pic from one of our games at the Flamingo.

Thanks for the picture Freak. That looks a lot different than the machine at GS.

The Plaza has one of these. I would play it while waiting for the Misses this past March. What I noticed was the bounce height was VERY dependent on if the dice where on the vibra-table during the pop or if they were in the air bouncing. Not too different from a trampoline boost visually.

The voice is annoying, but its not a bad way to relax with low minimum. IIRC it had low odds, like double. Im sure the establishment can set that how they desire.

Well, it's hard to believe it's been something like seven years since the bubble craps machines started to show up in casinos. I'm bringing back this OLD thread so you guys can catch up on what we thought of them back them and compare it to current thinking. Anyone want to add their current thoughts?

They had craps machines at Beau Rivage about 4 years ago but they did not last long. They were in the area where slot machines are now, in the cage, poker room, sports book area.

Seven years could be seven days...I have yet to sit down at one and play. I do not know anyone that has. I was hoping they would just kinda fade away.

As Heavy predicted...They do not seem to have replaced any tables.
Same seems to be true with electronic BJ and Roulette.

If you walk into Bally's Las Vegas from the mall between them and Paris you'll find yourself hip deep in electronic roulette games and assorted other stuff. The one that annoys me is the automated Big Wheel game. Good grief. I can't believe anyone would play THAT SOB. And the noise it makes as it slowly blinks through the slots just kills my hearing aids. Might as well be pounding on my head with a hammer. The Horseshoe in Bossier has taken out one wall of slot machines and installed a wall of electronic BJ machines - all with video projected BJ dealers with their boobs hanging out of their skimpy costumes - something you'd never get a real dealer to wear, but you might find on a beverage server. I keep waiting for those video projected women to organize and sue some poor designer for making them sexy.

Aren't there still some party pits still around in Vegas where the dealers are all women in skimpy outfits?

Yep. Paris still has theirs on the weekend. Lithe beauties with the french lace get-ups and bustiers.

Although, I didn't see any redheads last time I was there.

Electronic craps is the majority of my play now. I only hit a regular table when I can catch an empty one or a near empty one with a good crew.

If you like the dark side you can dream up systems that you can't use on a regular table. I like to lay everything in a negative progression.

Now that is interesting...
Since I had not expected to hear that, I am very curious about what events made you go in this direction and what your overall strategy is for playing this game.
Keep in mind that I really know almost nothing about the electronic game, and zero experience with it.

Been somewhat concerned the mechanical / digital contraptions could

go Artificial Intelligence mode

which would overwhelm my limited mortal humane intelligentsia quotient ...

A lot of it is the live table market in my local area sucks. A combination of dickwad dealers, dickwad players, and bouncy tables. One casino fixed the bouncy table issue but still has the other two problems.

Some of it is increased options. You can bet in increments that you can't on a regular table and still get full payouts. I like to make lay bets on the bubble and play that way over 50% of the time. In the past we've talked about the lay everything in a progression bet or lay everything on comeout rolls, and you can do that on a bubble for as low as $1 per number if you wish.

If you're a fan of "the Strategy" I believe the bubbles are ready made venues for that system. Only cavet is you only have so long to make your bets. When the "no more bets" is announced it's a final decision. Most are set on 20 or 25 seconds to make your bets. I found one that is set on 15 and I struggle to get all my bets the way I want on that one sometimes.

MSS,
What brand of electronic craps game do you play on? Or if several types, which one do you prefer to play on? Thanks!
