Re: Your Go To, Money Making, BEST Betting Strategy
I found something on yesterday’s trip for 4&10 betting on a 5$ table.
Here’s what I did:
5$ 4&10, 6$ six. 16$ invested.
On a six I would go 6-12-12-18-18-30-30-66...
On 4&10
5-15-15-50-50-75-150-300...
I found the collect for 27 on the second hit to be VERY frequent. And cheap powerpress to 50 for 10$, gives you a very early black chip collects!
Why only six? Money management. I would take the 8 also on some players. Some only play one number.
I invested 15$ on a hot shooter at my arrival, I got a free buffet, free room and profits to get drunk with the wife, very nice family day. Plus I hit triple sevens on a slot! Nice day!

Re: Your Go To, Money Making, BEST Betting Strategy
Only if I am the thrower or it's a known DI...I've found it better to just press ALL of the first hit across all my bets, since I'm going for a 2nd hit anyway. Why not? That way, when I regress after the 2nd hit, I at least have some type of profit and I'm paid for on the table no matter what happens and go from there.22Inside wrote: ↑Fri Jul 26, 2019 10:31 amIf the 2 hits are both on inside numbers, the regression to $44 in/out/even does leave you $2 in the hole. If one of those hits is on 4 or 10, then you're in a $4 position. If both hits are on 4 or 10, then you're in a $10 position after the regression.thnick wrote: ↑Fri Jul 26, 2019 10:07 am $96 across two hits gets you $42. Down to $44 inside puts you slightly in the hole..I'm assuming you're shooting so the PL bet is $15? Whatever..Yeah. It's a good way to do it. I just don't like that big an outlay on a roll. I'll go $30 6 and 8. I think there is value too in starting small..like a $12 6 and 8 and whatever you usually throw..10? 4? Or come out with besides the 6 and 8. And you press early to the next unit. And then take. If a roll develops, well you're there. This is, no doubt, the tough area. How to bet early and get ahead early.
It's definitely a risk/reward tradeoff for sure. The thing I like about the regression from across is that any 2 box number hits gets you into your regression. If you're doing a regression from $30 6/8 (which is a play I also like), you need to wait for that 6 or 8 hit which could wind up taking longer and leaving you exposed longer.
Whatever your regression play, I think you need to have an exit plan if the hand doesn't develop the way you like and you get uncomfortable with leaving the initial outlay out there too long.
Additionally, I WOTCO (if already warmed up with the toss).
Sure has worked very well for me!

New to the board and from what I have read so far, I would say I play a little different than most here. I guess I would be considered a student of Sam Grafstein’s book.
I had actually not been in the casinos for about 4 years due to some family health issues, except for a couple trips that I didn’t track my play on since it was so rare. Also, had gotten away from playing craps seriously several years prior to that.
So I was going to be near a casino last year and knew I would have some time in the evenings. Decided to re-read portions of the Dice Doctor prior to the trip. Reading the Dice Doctor, the first strategy he starts with is a simple pass line bet. I think his intent was to just use this as a basis for his other bets and strategies. I think his buy-in and money management methods are worth as much as anything.
Anyway, decided to just stick with his pass line with single odds strategy including parlaying naturals. His strategy is basically a 50% progression. Followed his buy-in, money management and qualified shooter rules.
Ended up profitable all 4 nights there and made $7k total. Needless to say, pass line with single odds is my “Go To Money Maker”.
I have had a few more opportunities to hit the casinos in the past year and this is still the basis for my betting. Since getting back into the game a little, I will expand out to some place and come bets from time to time.
Actually working on a strategy that is the extreme opposite of this single bet strategy. I will post that another time. Just wanted to get my feet wet for now.

Re: Your Go To, Money Making, BEST Betting Strategy
Looking forward to it. What is your initial pass line bet?
Re: Your Go To, Money Making, BEST Betting Strategy
Minimum I would play would be $25. More commonly start at $50. Those 4 consecutive days of winning, by the last day I was starting at $125.
Even $25 plus $25 odds might sound high to some, but really it is basically the same exposure as the old classic $5 pass and 2 come bets with double odds. Actually it might be a little less exposure when you parlay naturals and lock up the odds.

Welcome to the forums MarkS. Great first post. Looking forward to future ones.
Is this pass line + single odds strategy something you use just on yourself or all other shooters?

Re: Your Go To, Money Making, BEST Betting Strategy
I guess I am a wannabe DI. No way for me to practice, so I have watched some videos and read some different sites. I have a set and toss that actually work fairly well for me.
That first week back playing I used Sam’s “qualified shooter”. Basically, that is any new shooter that throws a winner (natural or pass). Now, I try to watch the shooters more carefully. Are they setting the dice? What does their grip and toss look like? Even try to watch my own tosses. A couple trips back, every time I threw, the dice would just tumble. Never was able to correct it that session. Don’t know if my fingers got sticky or what.
Anyway, I still basically stick with the whole “qualified shooter” thing but I may adjust my bets based on what I have seen in their previous throw techniques.
Recently watched an older gentleman very carefully (and slowly) set the dice with what looked like inline sixes (I was at the other end of the table). Then very carefully (and slowly) grip the dice from the ends. I’m thinking, “okay, this guy really looks like he knows what he is doing”. Then he turns his hand palm up. Drops the dice into his palm. And gives them a shake and a chicken feed toss.

Welcome. Seen that type of dice setting behavior multiple times. I think it's the ritual of it..like when a shooter bangs the dice on the
table and then tosses. Your betting style is also used by RG except he does the come bet. Works well for him.

UNHH!! Have you got a box, a towel, and a bed ? A TV diner table for a launch point- and you can practice. UNHH!!
Re: Your Go To, Money Making, BEST Betting Strategy
?????? no way to practice? PM me your address, I will mail you a set of six pair of old dice for free. All you need from that point is two butler tables from wall mart, plywood, rubber.felt Blackclounds way will work too, from launch to touch down. What ever the skill level is, DI's toss, or have tossed, everyday. if you try to influence the dice, you are. Question is how and by how much.

My Best betting strategy, hell betting is based on bankroll. Go across, one hit and down. Not saying "Take me down" has cost me more money than any betting strategy has won. Every thing works some of the time, nothing works all the time. the key is knowing when to do what, and I am still working on that. Shooting vs. playing, on myself, going to the inside and pressing every other hit seems to be working. Will work better when I put an ISR in it, I think. On others, what is the hand doing, what is the table doing, no more than 24 bucks on anybody. getting better with the battle between my ears.

Blackcloud & Raider - What are your thoughts on practicing with something that is NOT a reasonable facsimile of a craps table? Would you just be watching the flight of the dice and hitting a landing zone? Would you still consider using something like BoneTracker just as a measure of consistency of the toss without that final randomizer?
I just basically had it in my head that it wasn't worth a lot of practice without some final feedback.

Re: Your Go To, Money Making, BEST Betting Strategy
You practice making a perfect toss to a perfect spot. Don’t sweat the results, they are next to meaningless, especially if not on a real craps table.
Re: Your Go To, Money Making, BEST Betting Strategy
With out looking at the bounce after the dice land your in a batting cage where the ball vanishes when you hit it, was it a home run or a foul? you don't know. HoO is right, until you get the dice to roll back off the wall, the left wall hits make your results meaningless. But you have to start somewhere. Playing craps and shooting craps are two different things. Hell man, a rig would cost you less than a hundred to build a 2' x2' though you would be better going 2' x 4' and since the rubber is sold in 4' lengths, you might as well. either way, you have to keep in the box, until you do that working on you toss is a waste of time. I am glad your intrested in DI, but saying you have nothing to practice on ….. got to practice if you wannbe a wannbe right now, your just intreasted in it, by some books, do some homework. Sharpshooter, MP and JP advance craps, the dice doctor is a good start for playing the game but shooting is not playing.

Re: Your Go To, Money Making, BEST Betting Strategy
I don't buy Grafstein's qualified shooter business having to do with come out naturals unless the shooter is setting for that shot. IMO it is nonsense. I like the shooter to throw inside numbers, but that too is a chancey situation. Regress, take profit and "Take me down." As raider says. I too have saved myself countless times with "Take me down." Yes sometimes rolls go on beyond me being out of the picture. So? When I haven't said those words to the dealers, I have left too much money on the table to talk about.
Re: Your Go To, Money Making, BEST Betting Strategy
thnick - I do tend to agree with you on the naturals for qualified shooters, I still tend to follow it, although I do pay more attention to the type of shooter now. Also, while Grafstein advocates progressions up to table limit, on my pass line bets I tend to limit to 4 or 5 steps. That is the point in the pass line progression that profits are substantial compared to a flat bet, but returning money to the table for the next step is also substantial. I don’t regress or come down, but I am only looking at a single bet versus your 4.
Re: Your Go To, Money Making, BEST Betting Strategy
One of my routine plays at the casino for the past several months is to use a form of Grafstein's pass line press and I usually make more money than loose. You are playing for naturals to be tossed during the hand along with a few points made. Progression I use is $5-10-15-25-35-50-65-80-100 and stop there. The most made so far is making to $100 and getting 4 hits at the $100 PL bet. Most of the time you don't make much but when you are $50 and over it is exciting to see that 7 or 11 on the come out.

Re: Your Go To, Money Making, BEST Betting Strategy
The thing is regarding pass line press moves..the shooter's percentage of making his/her point declines immediately for subsequent rolls. I don't remember the statistics, but the probablility decreases after the first pass. You might consider working with odds rather than progressing the basic PL. After a few rolls, if the shooter doesn't make the number you can remove or lower your odds. You can't, however, remove the PL contract bet. Just my opinion, but I never play anything but the absolute minimum PL. On the other hand, if you are playing the don'ts the opposite action could work re: laying odds. As the shooter moves towards the prime areas for going 7 out, you could increase your lay bet on the DP. We're talking random shooters here, right?
Re: Your Go To, Money Making, BEST Betting Strategy
The only time I am on the PL is when I am shooting, and you know what, some times I am on the DP as well. Its what I pay to shoot. If hmy hand covers the bet spread, I go down on the DP and use it for odd, but only have the hand is paying for it sel fi have been playing on the same $620 bank roll since OCT. I am there to shoot, not to play so my bets or on others are no more than 20 bucks. and never on the PL. Are you betting on the shooter or the dice? What is the table doing and can you dial into it. Like I said, shooting and playing are two different things.
and thick I haven't made money by saying "take me down", I have lost more than I have won by not saying, thinking of getting to a tat so I can rememeber

Revival Time!
With so much free time now, I have started crunching different strategies in Wincraps (side by side) in between practice sessions. Some of those strategies are taken directly from this thread.
