I do not understand, if you bet the heat at 4.5 THE [ heat ] must win by 5 points or more.

If you buy it down to 4 the [ heat ] must win by 5 points or more also.

So to me i think you should not buy it down to 4 points.

can you tell me the advantage on buying it down to 4 points.I'm new to this game.

IMO there is zero advantage to buying down. You're giving money away on a bet you might lose anyway..which would be an extra loss. I suppose if you are rich and you're playing for hundreds of thousands..a few thousand dollar buy down is penny ante.

What happens to the 17 dollars you pay to have the odds push down to four points.?

I lose a little more if we lose. You only pay Vig when you lose. I have faith in your picks that we wont. But I know the Heat have burnt us a few times recently so I paid to bring it down to 4. Yes it is a push at 4.
