Hop Bets?
I’ve noticed that during practice I occasionally toss hands with lots of combinations containing sixes.
I am not a regular prop bettor so would like some advise on if and how I can take advantage of them if I see it in the casino.
I’m thinking hop bets but have no idea how to press them and the correct payouts. I know it’s 15-1 or 30-1 for the 66. I know i could hop each combo (16,26,36,46,56,66) for $5 each and just stay there. But that thought keeps bothering me....there's got to be a better way.
This was a hand I tossed this morning during practice…any suggestions?
62, 65, 64, 14, 63, 26, 46, 56, 56, 54, 12, 65, 62, 66, 16, 41, 15, 46, 16
All those sixes, seems there should be a way to make some $ on something like this.
I sure would appreciate some input from some of you more experienced players in this type betting especially the pressing aspect. Also if it's a totally bad idea please let me know that.
Thanks,
Coaster

Re: Hop Bets?
Not specifically the 6, but what it brings with it. Maybe a crapless table using all the 6 connected numbers? You'd be on the 10, 11, 12..etc.
Re: Hop Bets?
One of the DI outfits in Vegas incorporates some sort of hops in their betting strategy, I think with the 1's and 6's, hopping all combinations like you outlined. I won't say who it is, so as to promote it, as I don't agree with a lot of the stuff he preaches.

Re: Hop Bets?
I noticed that too on a recent trip. Lot's of sixes, coming from left faces of one die off axis. What to do, with money already on 8 & 9. I know! Hop 6/2, 6/3, 6/4, and 6/5. $5 @ we will take $40 down and buy 10 for $40. What could possibly go wrong? Result 6/6!!!
But yes, those results on a crapless table!

Place the 8-9-10 (and 11-12 on crapless) if you're seeing a high occurrence of 6'sHouse of Orange wrote: ↑Sat Oct 24, 2020 11:49 am I noticed that too on a recent trip. Sure. But the main point is that they are bet. Biloxi auto buys anyway on outside numbers as long as the bet is high enough.House of Orange wrote: ↑Sat Oct 24, 2020 12:43 pm9-12 get bought22Inside wrote: ↑Sat Oct 24, 2020 12:17 pmPlace the 8-9-10 (and 11-12 on crapless) if you're seeing a high occurrence of 6'sHouse of Orange wrote: ↑Sat Oct 24, 2020 11:49 am I noticed that too on a recent trip. Ah yes. The benefits of watching so-called "dice control experts" on YouTube. You get to see all of this stupidity. Funny, I know exactly who you're talking about - a clown who advocates combining betting across with Field bets and Hop bets and Hardways and just about every other high vig bet on the table in order to attain "multiple payoffs" on every hit while failing to acknowledge that he also has multiple losses at the same time. And if you watch his videos you'll see that he almost never tosses the dice because he's NOT a dice influencer. Instead he just has a bunch of dice set up on the table with different results showing and tells you, "I tossed a twenty-three number hand before starting this video and these were the results." As Joe Biden would say, "Come on, man . . . " Or as Heavy would say, "Bullshit."One of the DI outfits in Vegas incorporates some sort of hops in their betting strategy, I think with the 1's and 6's, hopping all combinations like you outlined. Anyway, on the subject of Hop Bets, remember it's a one roll bet. Any combination you hop (easy) is going to have to show up as called more than one time in every 15 rolls to break even or turn a profit. So look at your roll results and analyze whether or not you have a number or two that you have that advantage on over a larger base of rolls than what you've shown us. Toss a book of 720 and analyze it. If you tossed the 6-5 ten 72 times in 720 rolls then it's showing once every ten rolls and should turn a profit for you. If those numbers prove out then play a "due number" game if you want and start counting rolls. After five or six rolls with no eleven then start hopping it. Once hit hits stop hopping it for another five or six rolls, then hop it again. Maybe it'll work - maybe it won't. But at least you'll have put more thought into it from something approaching a mathematical point of view.

Re: Hop Bets?
I have the same issue with the 6 showing a lot with one of my sets.at times..off axis 6 for me.....23 65 set..left die off....
When this happens I arrange my bets to 8, 9 an10 with the field....when the inside starts showing as it should I drop the outside....and the field....
You can also....as Heavy has said....adjust for the slice and move the 6 to a better spot within the set to maybe bring your inside numbers up.....JMO...

Re: Hop Bets?
Hi Coaster. Good thread.
re: Coasters post above -- "...This was a hand I tossed this morning during practice…any suggestions?
62, 65, 64, 14, 63, 26, 46, 56, 56, 54, 12, 65, 62, 66, 16, 41, 15, 46, 16..."
After the 2nd toss I would have been inclined to Hop Yo for seven continuous tries and continued if a yo showed within that seven attempts. If Yo hit at 1.0 Unit I would go to 2.0U for next four tosses and regress back to 1.0.
After the third toss(6-4) I would have added a Field bet continuously and parlay any F hit 3x, independent of whatever I was doing on the Hop.
Im always looking for opportunities to Lay the 6 OR 8 and often compare ratios of 6 to 1 digits showing(as u show in your string above). Another indicator as I mentioned above is if I see the 6 digit showing moderately greater than 1-digit is to start wagering the Field coupled with a Hop on the Yo or Twelve, seldom both.

Re: Hop Bets?
IMO hop bets..one roll popcorn horrible house edge bets made by players who are there to have fun and not to make money.. UNLESS somebody at the table is consistantly making a ton from them..and then that's another universe. The Rod Serling Twilight zone..where the clowns have come in and you just simply have to play like they play in order to glean the green.
Re: Hop Bets?
Thanks for all the input.
Nick I do agree with you but did get drawn into the TZ.
It was the first time I either noticed that many or maybe just paid attention. Seeing what turned out to be 14 of 19 made me think I should take advantage some way.
So the consensus is to forget about it unless it happens on a crapless table?
BTW I was using a crossed 6’s set. My normal play using this set on a regular table is to bet the 6,8,9 with 10 as a "watch for" number to jump on if it shows.
Today, I still had quite a few sixes but not as many as yesterday. Number for today….one.

Re: Hop Bets?
I don't know. The other thing to do would be to play uptown as they say on a regular table.. Just 8,9,10. It's an interesting situation. You could add a small field bet to catch the rest including the 4..like a different iron cross. At least for a couple rolls. But crapless seems the best of the lot..to repeat.
Re: Hop Bets?
I don't chart at the tables but I keep my eyes open for anomalies if I happen to be around other shooters. I will hop bets on anomalies and I don't think there is anything wrong for anyone else to do it as long as they understand it's for fun and not an exact science. I don't believe in particular anomalies as exact science.
I know he won't mind so I will pick on HEAVY. There isn't a time when I was at the tables with HEAVY that I would not hear him say "See a horn bet a horn" when a horn number is thrown. To me I do it for fun. Superstitions are also anomalies (Dice going off table, money coming in middle of roll, stick change, etc.) usually leads to someone yelling turn my bets off. I can remember many times making my point, hitting a number with high money placed on it or making a bonus bet right after one of these. Yea I can also remember a seven coming. That's why in my opinion all of these are anomalies but used for fun can be well... funny

Re: Hop Bets?
I rarely use the hops, probably because I don't know the best way to use them. But for me, and maybe it comes in that superstitious area ..
1) if a shooter needed a simple box number to complete an ATS, and 7s out ... I will hop that number up to three consecutive rolls on the next shooter.
2) I have hopped 7s on the comeout sometimes
3) If a see a come out seven, I have a tendency to hop the roll for a 7
4) If I am getting a 9 on a heavy nine set, I will sometimes hop it .... tho very rarely.
