Down to your Last Four Red Chips - What do you do?

Setting and influencing the dice roll is just part of the picture. To beat the dice you have to know how to bet the dice. Whether you call it a "system," a "strategy," or just a way to play - this is the place to discuss it.

My home casino is a $10 minimum joint. So $10 on the pass and $10 on the 9 WOTCO. Use the 5/9 set and if hits, place the 8 & 6 for $12 each (move the 9 over) and use the 6/8 set. If some other box number comes up other than the 9, I'll keep using the 5/9 set until it hits or the point is made. If the point is made, next bets would be on the 5 & 9 WOTCO.

If luck is on my side, I will slowly transition to the iron cross but not until I have 3 units each on the 5, 6 & 8. Then I'll start farming the field for $12 and use the wins (as long as the number that came up is not a 5, 6 or 8) to 'fertilize' the 6 & 8 by one unit each.
Previous results are not indicative of future performance.

I'm a win or lose it all type, my buy in is usually in the $200-$300 range at my local $5 game, so I've definitely experienced a situation similar to the original question! There are three ways I would play it:

-If I have some time left I will be "boring" and just put down another PL with double odds and then a field bet or maybe some prop bets with the remaining $5.

-If I'm short on time and about to leave the question is moot as I probably would have already increased my odds or threw out some field/prop bets on the last shooter while I was waiting for the decision on that point. i.e. I wouldn't have been left with $20 after my last shooter because I would have already thrown it out on the last hand in some manner.

-If I'm feeling crazy I would do a $10 Hard Eight, and if it hits parlay it, hoping for a $1000 win. If it gets knocked down, put it back up for one last shot.

I would do big Al's march. $5 on the 4& 10. Working on the come out and march down the line. Not a smart move, but it would be very entertaining and very profitable.

:D Well well well! Nice to see you posting again, Vinylgirl. And as good of a recommendation as any.
