Fire Bet

After Riggs posted a question in another thread about fire bet probabilities / edge, I was reading through the thread at Wizard of Vegas and an idea popped into my head.

The fire bet is only cleared on a hand-ending 7. As the more astute people here know, if for some reason a shooter voluntarily passes the dice before a seven-out, the next shooter carries on the same hand, and then has the option to begin his/her own hand following the seven-out. (Most people don't realize this and when it's happened to me and I've asked about shooting again, even the dealers are sometimes confused!) You can probably tell where I'm going from here...

What if there was a Fire Bet relay-team built of 3 (6?) shooters? Do you think it might be "easier" for 3-6 different people to a toss pass-line point repeater, then pass the dice to the next person, rather than trying to hit all 6 with just a single shooter? Perhaps a team of people with different signature numbers?

I think that might probably, likely work exactly one time. Then, new rules would come into play. I do not want to be a wet blanket here, but these box critters and TGM's are not always ignorant and when they see what is going on, the S*** would probably hit the fan, especially if three consecutive shooter made three points. Just my opinion.

Now the concept is out there, how about a MAJOR CASINO MARKET ROAD TRIP TEAM ?

Take it for a 2-3 week romp and write a book or better post it on U TUBE

Sounds like a "golden opportunity"

I'm pretty sure that if the casino disallowed it for any reason, gaming regulation would be all over their asses, at least here in Vegas.

They cannot require you to finish a roll. Period. You can even walk if nobody else has a passline and you give up trying to make a 4 or 10 point. Even though the only way for someone to continue your roll while you wait for your bet to resolve has to make a bet with a 33% house edge in order to shoot the dice.

Trust me, if there's a way for me to do something the house doesn't like that they can't disallow on the table, I will know about it. And this is one of those things.

Other things that you can do that the house and/or dealers don't like but they can't disallow:

* Neutralizing your come bets with lay bets (you can't take them down, but you can liquidate the value after edge by laying the bet)
* Betting the line and the don't for minimum each and moving the layodds and odds bets all over the freaking place just to keep the dealers busy and slow down the table .. (eg: bet 5 odds on the ten and 12 layodds on the ten at the same time for a $2 effective don't) -- then change it up, make it 7 odds on the 10 and 10 layodds on the ten please -- every roll for every bet you have
* bet a bet for the dealers and say you control it and just parlay it until it doesn't hit again and then tell the dealers what they did wrong
* throw both dice off the table one out of every four rolls and make up some story about how you are trying to keep them on the table
* scream without loud excitement when you win minimum line bet with no odds.
* blame the stick man for everything .. and I mean *everything* - "where's the cocktail waitress stickman?"
* ask to take down bets you can't take down then complain and tell them they do it at another casino
* make dealer bets and take them down and give them to the shooter "give the dealer's hard 8 to the shooter!"

Being an ass at the table is an acquired skill. And you never know when circumstances might call for it.

But when the house does something you don't like, you can pull out one thing after another. If you know what you're doing, they will usually back off pretty quick. Running other players off of a table is the most powerful influence that any player has, and the house fears you running off the george's and the finger snappers probably more than you getting lucky.

People talk about having to go in at 5am to get a clear table. I can usually clear a table without losing more than $10 in 30 minutes or less at any casino with more than one table operating at a time. Period. And that's a skill for sure in the game. I used to worry about trying to win for other players, but having other players lose on your roll can be a very valuable thing to be able to do too!

Assuming they allow it, and you put together the 'crew' to do it, you also need to account for shooting positions. Everyone has their favorite, and while they might allow you to pass the dice, and continue, they may frown upon someone swapping shooting positions...
