5 Different "Army March" systems
I found this post on my computer that I had saved from the Bigkahnman. I never tried this system but I thought I would put it up since I had it.

Re: 5 Different "Army March" systems
This is in my library and a low roller's variation of the march. Thought it appropriate to place it here.
Kelph
Cheapskate's Two-Step ($100 Bankroll Play)
Wait for point to be established. After that, it's up to you whether you want to work your bet on subsequent come outs.
Place $5 on 10 or 4.
First hit brings $9. Bank $4 and step over to the next box number (9 or 5, depending on where you started your two-step).
Place $10 on the 9 (or 5). You're basically risking a buck of your "own money" at this point.
Second hit brings $14. Add it to the $10 and step over to the next box number.
Place $24 on the 8 (or 6). You're still risking only a buck from your original $100 buy-in.
Third hit brings $28. Stop betting. You've profited $51.
Or...keep going a la the Army System.
After the third hit, put $16 back in your rail. You're now up $15 on the shooter, and have guaranteed a return on your original $5 bet.
Tango over to the next number, 6 (or 8). Place it for $36.
Fourth hit brings $42 (plus $36 = $78). Put $28 in your rack and move on over to the 5 (9). You're up by $43.
Place the 5 (or 9) for $50.
A fifth hit pays $70 (plus $50 = $120). Put $20 in your rack. You've got a profit of $63. Go for the kill!
Place 4 & 10 for $50 each.
A hit pays $90.
All down for $190. Add the $63 you already racked, and your total take is $253 on your initial $5 wager.
You could of course start with $5 on the 4 & 10 and march toward the center and beyond depending on your choice. Risk only goes from $5 to $10 and the potential profit is acceptable. Good for exciting action for small bankrolls on warm to hot tables.

Hi John1
Thanks for the message but I was not the one who came up with the Army March. Before the old board went down I saved several ways you can play it which I posted above. I wonder, what ever happened to the Bigkahnman? My memory isn't all that good so if he's gone to the big casino in the sky then I apologize.

Re: 5 Different "Army March" systems
.
Before I got wrapped in this most recent round of DOCTOR HOP..we witnessed a nifty to score on a table
with the SMALL-ALL-TALL carnival wager...........This was cool to watch and Bride actually pulled it off
on our second day of that visit.......
* Place BET ALL the BOX NUMBERS at your COMFORT LEVEL.......PLUS place THE HORN at $8
( and this part may get TOO RICH so you may wish to make ADJUSTMENTS)
The 2-3-4-5-SIX constitute THE LOW THE HIGH is made up of the 8-NINE-10-ELEVEN-12
By completing either the SMALL and the TALL they pay
independently $34 to1 each on the spot in casino chips
THE ALL pays a bonus of $175 to $1 as expected the ALL is paid off SELDOM....
Most PLAYERS fall short of winning both SMALL and TALL and THuS the 3rd part of the WAGER
HOWEVER there are just enough folks who consistently WIN either THE SMALL or THE TALL
to keep it interesting.......
Treat the HORN differently than the BOX NUMBERS in that you maintain/replace THE HORN
for THREE ROLLS and if not hit INCREASE THE WAGER to $12 maintain/replace x 3
the increase to $20 X 2 and wager THE HORN NO MORE ....Theory being at lease one of the HORN numbers may show in eight rolls
{ I am somewhat sketchable on this even though we saw it work twice 'cause I have seen it not go anyplace way to frequently to chase that part }
Back to the BOX NUMBERS ...as the numbers hit distribute the proceeds among the BOX NUMBERS
on that side be it THE SMALL 4,5,SIX or 8 , NINE,10 option ARMY MARCH THE WINNINGS to the
REMAINING two or ONE BOX NUMBER on THAT SIDE be it THE SMALL or THE TALL.....
Once either side THE SMALL or THE TALL is paid REMOVE ALL YOUR WAGERS and wait for the hand to finish before betting again on the table or just move on with your newly won PROFIT$
All the above on a TYPICAL CRAPS TABLE and we know there is a place ANYTHING MAY HAPPEN......
W C
* POST SCRIPT : We choose to bet minimal on the Small-All-Tall
....and PLACE BET THE ACTUAL BOX NUMBERS
...thus we were able to INCREASE our WAGERS with the HAND IN PROGRESS
and able to YANK THEM ALL DOWN following the earlier mentioned INDICATOR *

Hi $5Bill,
Thanks for posting that.
I'm afraid avid systems-poster, BigKahnMan, has 'slipped the surly bonds of earth to touch the face of God'. Last I heard from him, he was unable to play, but still keen to share his betting ideas and concepts. That was at least three years back, if I recall correctly.

Re: 5 Different "Army March" systems
As someone with NO betting system I have a few questions. Even though I have been pretty successful in turning $200 buyin's to $900 in one session I don't use any system, just bet with what is happening at the time on the table.
Here are my questions
1: When it says to place and number and once it hits, does it mean you would play $5 on the 4 (or 10) and just wait until the number is hit, if it never hits you don't place anymore money?
2: The same question goes if the 4 hits, then you place the 5 and only wait for one of those to hit again before placing a bet?
3: What happens if the 7 comes, do you start all over placing the 4 and wait?
Thanks

Re: 5 Different "Army March" systems
Yes, I miss bigkahnman's posts. Thanks for bringing that one back. I still play my "squeeze box" version of the army march from time to time. With that play, you bet across and whenever a number hits you take it down and parlay it and the win to the next inside number, eventually loading everything up on the six and eight. For example:
Play $64 across.
Nine rolls - pays $14 - take the $14 plus the $10 you had on the nine and press the eight $24 - which makes it a $36 eight.
Eight rolls - collect $42 and rack it.
Ten rolls - pays $18 - take the $18 plus the $10 bet - lock up $3 and place the nine for $25.
Now if the nine rolls it pays $35 - take that and the $25 bet and press the eight $60 - to $96.
You play the downtown numbers (4, 5, 6) the same way. My strategy was to get both the six and eight to $96, take one hit at that level, ten either take everything down OR go back to $64 across and run the progression again.
If nothing else, these plays keep the dealers entertained. Most have never seen anything like it.

Re: 5 Different "Army March" systems
I worked in the New Orleans market in the late sixties, took a two year vacation courtesy of my Uncle Sam, then returned to New Orleans in the early seventies. During that time I worked for Bill Stewart, who was running WNOE - a 50,000 watt monster that beamed a directional signal to 37 states and most of Canada. You can read a little bit about Bill - who we referred to as "the tall guy with glasses," on Todd Storz bio in Wikipedia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Todd_Storz
Storz, by the way, owned WTIZ in New Orleans - at that time the number one rock station in the city. It was eventually knocked out of the lead dog position by FM radio's WRNO, which debuted in the seventies. Bill Stewart was largely credited for inventing "top 40" radio when he was program director at WBZ in Boston. Here's the story behind the story. Stewart and Storz were sitting in a bar one night (one of Stewart's stumbling blocks) when they noticed the waitress playing the same song over and over and over. They got the idea of contacting the jukebox companies and asking if they tracked which records wore out quickest on the jukebox. They took that list of records and developed a top 60 play list, which they eventually pared down to 40 as the magic number. In those days it took about 2 hours to work through the entire play list, making 40 songs about the optimum number.
I did a stint in the metro New York market after WNOE and finally burned out in the radio business in 1976. Interestingly enough, I ran into Stewart at a bank in Dallas quite accidentally in 1978. He had recently left a national program director position with Fairchild Broadcasting, which owned KLIF in Dallas - the former McClendon Broadcasting powerhouse. Stewart was selling radio jingles with a production company in Dallas - also burned out on the radio business. A few years later I heard he had committed suicide.
The radio business is a killer.

Joni Mitchell and Rush both did songs about the craziness and the stress of being in the radio DJ business:
