Hello all,

I read through out the forum about roll books. From what I can tell people are recording their rolls. Are they doing this during the session? Doesn't the casino frown on this?

Most of us have practice rigs or tables that we practice on and record rolls - for the most part using BoneTracker, a program you can download over on my crapsfest.com website or directly from Maddog here on the forum. It's an excel based program that tracks rolls and slices and dices results six ways from Sunday. A lot of the guys also track rolls in the casino , usually using some sort of chart or notepad/card. Some folks use the cards from the baccarat table to track rolls. In these cases, they're usually looking for obviously identifiable trends and attempting to follow them. It's very rare that a casino will give you grief over roll tracking. Some don't like it because they believe it slows down the game if the shooter is tracking his own rolls, but you'll rarely get heat over it. Most just assume you are a system player tracking for the strategy you're betting, and most casino managers have the same philosophy about system players. "Show me a system player and I'll send the limo for him."

I just got back from A/C and tossed with a Montana from this site! He was recording his rolls at the table

I have been reading MP's shooting bible and the first thing you see is a huge page of information.. while I am a firm believer of knowledge is power how much information should I be recording to start out with in a roll book?

Inspector... I guess it depends on what you intend to do with the information you record. I think your goal will determine what you need.

By the way, guys, those of you who have purchased the video or attended one of the seminars in the past received a data disk with all of the seminar handouts on it - as well as some items I've found very useful through the years. That includes Lagunaflats roll tracking sheet he put together. Very handy to have. Guys, if you don't have such a thing they're relatively easy to put together in microsoft excel. All you really need are a bunch of boxes to write number down in. You may want to add more "stuff" as you go along, but the basics are pretty simple.
