The Craps Lesson by Gene Robinson??

Hello everyone I'm new to this sight and I've only been playing craps for a few yrs. when I started I came across a special on youtube featuring Caesars24/7 I saw a gentleman by the name of Gene Robinson teaching someone to play craps with a place inside numbers strategy. I bought the book and tried to use this strategy but it wasn't very efficient in making a profit. I then decided to take a few dice influence classes with the Dice Coach Beau Parker this helped out my game alot. But sense I do not live in Nevada its hard to practice my throws. So I bought a throwing station which is good for someone like myself that can't really afford a regulation size table. But I'm more concerned with learning a simpler and more efficient betting and money management strategy to make the most money and be able to leave the tables up in profit. I like to place the inside and press when I'm on a roll with occasional hard-way bets I use a 3 fingered grip and can shoot from stick L1 or R1 but I prefer stick R1. right now I average about a 10: roll ratio before I seven out. any good advice would be appreciated.
Thank You
Jay

If you dig around enough you will find that most right side betting strategies (that people like to use around here) that are profitable gravitate towards two ideas: Pass line with odds + your top 2 box numbers with a pressing schedule that starts after more than doubling your layout (except big odds if your bankroll can support the variance of them) OR a steep regression strategy on 4-6 box numbers that gets profitable after 2-3 hits (by taking the winnings then regressing and locking in a profit) from there these regression strategies usually have a fastish press schedule. A few others that could work long term - come bets (I think a 2-point Molly could work with a modest toss) or if you can deal with the boring, just flat pass w/odds. At the last chat night we also had a good discussion about negative progression odds strategies.
There are countless ways to play this game, just stating what I have learned over browsing enough it for 90% to mentally fall into a bucket of something I have read about that is similar.
I myself am developing a darkside strategy, we will see if it is as powerful as I envision it to be. Playing darkside (at least how I am envisioning it) can "limit" your options, in a good way and force you to focus on only a bet or two.

I appreciate the feedback. So if I was to place bet the 6 &8 and maybe place bet two more inside numbers along with the pass line with odds would that be a decent strategy?

So jaythadude,
Do you throw more 6's and 8's than the random distribution shows you should? What about the 5's and 9's? If you throw more 4's and 10's than those other 4 numbers why would you bet on the 5, 6, 8, or 9? The goal is to make money. Figure out what you throw the most of and bet those one or two numbers.

The secret reason why guys like Mr. Robinson win - they're playing with other people's money. If they win then they get a percentage. If they don't win you never hear about it. There's a version of that strategy on the forum called Heavy's Craps Lesson or something to that effect - it's a little more conservative than Robinson's version, but not by much. That strategy is an across play. Fours and tens are power pressed to table max. Inside numbers are "same bet" until they are all paid for, then pressed. Way too aggressive.
You need to find a betting strategy that fits your bankroll, your risk tolerance, and your ability to influence the dice. If you're using the V-3 and rolling lots of inside numbers that might be Pass Line, Odds, Place the Six and eight, and follow that with a come bet or two - with the idea of replacing those place bets with come bets. That's about as low vig of a way to play as you'll find.
My preference is for a six and eight regression move - say $30 each on the six and eight - after one hit regress to $18 each. That way you only have $1 at risk dollar on the six and eight after the first hit.
Dig into the betting strategy sub-board, as mentioned, and learn everything you can about DI. Seriously limit your play on non-DI's. You'll figure it out.

well it's more 6's 8's and 4's depending on my dice set. i usually use the hardway set so that I can reduce the appearance of the 7.

Thanx for the feedback " Heavy " I had a book that Beau gave me on one of my sessions with him but I miss placed it. I usually carry a bankroll $200-$400 I will study your strategies you have posted in the forum. I'm really liking this site. I had a question about practicing my dice throwing at home. i want to one day purchase a regulated table just to add more realism to my technique. Would that be necessary? If so, where would I look to purchase that for a fair price ?

Several of the guys have purchased tables from a guy in Houston - whose name I forget but someone will post it I'm sure. Elephant Tracks has one of his tables. The U.S. Gaming tables aren't bad either. But my preference would be to find a table from a casino and purchase it. Casinos often sell their old tables when they upgrade or reduce the number of tables in the pit. From time to time Beau will come across one of these and buy it for resale. There's almost always one for sale on e-bay. Price can vary widely, so be cautious. If you just need a practice rig, check with alohajonny at practicerigs.com.
