Recently I started focusing more on my throw then betting strategy when I am the shooter. I put my money where I think I am rolling and concentrate on the dice and the throw. Every now and then I may make a betting move but for the most part I just collect money on the roll and maybe ask for a press or something.

The pro is that my rolls are going longer. The other aspect is I may not be making as much as I should be from my rolls. Maybe when I get good enough to share the concentration I can go the other way too but for now I think I am going to stick to my strategy.

What do you guys think?

I think you stated in another post that you are fairly new to DI. When I was new to DI I also had trouble thinking about everything at the table and thinking too much at the table was definitely a buzz kill to my DI toss.

I think right now you sound like you are in exactly the right place with your strategy. It will become easier to do everything as you practice and play more. Whatever you choose to do betting wise just practice those moves exclusively in your practice casino sessions and the bets and pay outs will become something you have to think about less and less when at the tables.

Before you know it you will be doing it all without feeling like it is a lot of effort.

DITTO... not just that quote, but everything in rhythm roller's post.

The way I overcome that is bet while I am tossing. That way I get familiar with my action as well as my toss. I think it helps a lot.

If you are throwing well enough to have an advantage, and you start your bets on the numbers that have proven results, I think it's possible to really overthink the betting during your roll. I expect it would be hard to demonstrate a long term advantage of different betting patterns over just flat betting. I mess with my bets because it's fun and seems like something that degenerate gamblers that I want to emulate do, but ultimately I think it just introduces a lot of noise and variance into my results. So in other words, focusing on your throw should be much more valuable.
