Suggestions for different play

[The extension xlsx has been deactivated and can no longer be displayed.]

Attached I have an excel file with a betting strategy that is profitable if you survive 3 box hits. This may already be a strategy out there but this is me just thinking. Check the math and let me know if I am thinking right.

Thanks

Looks like you're doing two hits at $320 across followed by a steep regression. I'm a big fan of regression play. We've used it for years in the Team Play class - starting out with something like $320 or $640 across for one or two hits - depending on who the shooter is and how consistent they are. Then regress to guarantee a profit for the hand - take the next hit - then press every other subsequent hit. I don't have any problems with it for anyone with the bankroll to sustain it.

Yea HEAVY I guess I forgot to mention that this is when I am the shooter or another DI. No Random in the mix.
The thing I like about this is that if you survive to the 3rd roll you are up regardless of what happens after that. You can rack 2/3rd of the winning and invest in the other or full press.

If a seven is supposed to show up once every six rolls (per the Craps Gods) or long run averages then this is a good way to go. If you PSO too many times your bankroll is gone.

If you PSO too many times your bankroll is gone.
Yeah, that'll happen pretty much regardless of how you bet. Too many PSO's will bite you. Of course, that's why we keep telling people NOT to work their bets that first toss after the point is established.

For fun, here is a WinCrapsPro script which I believe mimics the play described. I added one item where after the regression, each subsequent win is pressed by 50%. You can comment that line out if you want to just go same-bet after the regression.

Code: Select all

'-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
' Place 4,5,6,8,9,10 Across Regression
' Whenever shooter establishes a point, bet $320 total on Across Place/Buy numbers
' After 2nd win, regress to $134 inside.
' Beginning with 3rd win, Press all wins by 50%
'-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If
Next roll is a comeout roll
Then
   Passline = $5 :
EndIf

'-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
' When a point is decided - reset
If
   A point is decided
Then
   All(Place bets) = $0 :
   All(Buy bets) = $0 :
   CheckStack1 = 0 :
EndIf

'-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
' when a new point is set, initiate bets
If
   A point is established
   And
Last roll was a comeout roll
Then
   All(Buy4, Buy10, Place5, Place9) = $50 :
   All(Place6, Place8) = $60 :
AutoHandle Winning Bets = "Same Bet" :
EndIf

'-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
' Count the wins
If
   Any(Place bets win)
   Or
   Any(Buy Bets win)
Then
   Add 1 to CheckStack1 :
EndIf

'-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
' Once there are two wins, regress bets and auto press each additional win by 50%
If
   CheckStack1 = 2
Then
   'Regress Across bets
   All(Buy4, Buy10) = $25 :
   All(Place5, Place9) = $30 :
   All(Place6, Place8) = $12 :
   AutoHandle Winning Bets = 7 + 50 %
EndIf

Maddog, do you find scripting WinCrapsPro much easier than WinCraps Classic?

I'm sure there is a learning curve involved but it looks a bit easier to read at the very least.

I haven't done a lot with Pro to really give a qualified answer. But I whipped out the above script in about 20 minutes and that was the first time I had tried doing a new script in the Pro version. The longest part was looking up how to handle the Auto-Betting in instructions. (for example that line: "AutoHandle Winning Bets = 7 + 50 %" is weird in that I had to use the bet-handling-type-code (7) to get it to work.. I kept trying "AutoHandle Winning Bets = Same Bet + 50 %", but the parser apparently stopped after figuring I wanted "Same Bet").

I do like that I didn't have to deal with all those "when" clauses as those are what I found to be confusing unless you really thought the script through. I agree it seems easier to read... especial when a good programmer adds some comments to explain the steps.. :)

Yea, I avoided the "when" at all costs and made sure to only use the "while"

THIS IS AN AGGRESSIVE PLOY and may be beyond your COMFORT ZONE
so only play this level of $ exposure when you have grown your Bank Roll and
have the confidence in pulling it off.

On occasion you may be involved with your $320 or $640 or $1800 across
and find a less than happy dealer person ...This may have the same high early $ VALUE EXPOSURE
however place your wagers on "Autopilot" sort of.........

After you have made your have established your PASS LINE BOX NUMBER.
make a $10 COME BET WAGER( for those needing insurance place $2 ANY CRAPS also.

Now let's examine the possibilities.
!) Your COME WAGER GOES TO A BOX NUMBER:

good bring it down with ZERO ODDS and RACK YOUR WINNINGS
* in the event of a repeat BOX NUMBER goto (D) below *

2) YOU Toss a HORN NUMBER :
good ,you are either ahead $10 or $4 ( ELEVEN or a CRAPS # ) and have obvious options

3) You toss a SEVEN OUT :
Well you count your newly won COME WAGER
and lick your wounds from the LARGER $ VALUE LOSS

Let's say you tossed a BOX NUMBER followed by ANOTHER BOX #
GREAT : You have two BOX NUMBERS with $10 ea and your winnings in the rack

OTHER OPTIONS:
(A) ..PULL ALL YOUR PLACE ACTION DOWN
.
(B) ..REDUCE YOUR PLACE WAGER ACTION TO A LESSER $ CURRENCY VALUE
.
(C).. Just continue tossing the dice because you feel that YOU ARE INVINCIBLE
...and your $currency at risk will never become invisible..........
.
*(D) ..Should you repeat the first BOX NUMBER,my suggestion is to select either( A) ( B) or( C)

(E)..You are welcome to postulate ( hypothesize ) any other sequence

Thanks for bringing this to light. I've enhanced the code now to allow all the autohandle options to be selected using strings. For example:

AutoHandle Winning Bets = "Same bet + 50%"
AutoHandle Losing Bets = "Bet 10"
AutoHandle Losing Bets = "Bet" & checkstack1

You can still select the options using numbers (such as AutoHandle Winning Bets = 7) but doing so will only select the option button and not set any additional information such as + - x / and amount.

I added the changes to the latest pro version 1.0a and posted it to my web site.
