betting strategy

Hi DI,
Looks like I am going to be off work tomorrow, due to a rain day. I will be going to the Horseshoe in Cleveland, I have never played craps there. So being new to dice setting and I will be going to the casino with co-workers, who have never played craps. I was wondering, if anyone has good betting strategy for beginners that they would suggest. Also what is minimum table limits? Are the tables very bouncing? Hows the crew? I always play at Mountaineer in West Virginia. I usually bet across with a regression. Also how would you qualify a shooter. I usually watch them toss or watch for repeater inside number or I go with other dice setters. I do chart a table. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Seems like somebody told me that they never have less than a $10 game there and frequently it's more. Let's say they're running a $15 game and your friend(s) are newbies who have maybe $150 each to play with. That's a tough one. I'd say they have ten shots at either the Pass Line or the Don't Pass. I'd probably recommend the DP. Not exactly an exciting way for a new player to play - but less chance of getting wiped out in one trip around the table. If it's a $10 game you might consider a "sister number" place bet strategy. If the point is six - place the eight for one hit and down. If the point is nine - place the five, etc. Again, one hit and down then wait for the next shooter. Very conservative. One caveat - if you put your one bet up and it doesn't score in the first three or four tosses of the dice - I'd probably go ahead and take it down anyway and wait for the next shooter.

The heat seeker is a decent play for limited bankrolls if you can find a $5 game. It's a little tougher to play at the $10 level with less than a $300 sessions stake.

Hey what about if your buddies are cheap and wanna learn the game but have some real money to play with? I will be taking a trip to Vegas next week and have friends that are more interested in playing Poker than Craps, however they want to learn how to play Craps. I am willing to introduce them to the game but I don't wanna spend a ton of time teaching and not focusing on my throw. We will be Downtown for the most of the trip so I figured I could take them to a $3 dollar table to get them acclimated, if we can find one that is. Got a reply for a meet up so hopefully I can make that work while we're there but don't wanna piss the gentleman off in question. I know since I have told them to check out this blog and to join so they can gain some knowledge on the game of Craps, some of them have done so maybe some of the vets could throw a bit of advice out there. Any help is appreciated. Thanks all. Also Heavy if you could provide a link to the "Heat Seeker" strategy for them to view I'm sure they would thank you for it if we ever meet up! this is the slowest way I have found to lose money on the craps table. 1 unit field, 1 unit come, take no odds , wait. its not sexy, but if you have a limited bankroll, a full table and you want to shoot, your in the game with a low risk. Of course, if the shooter is doing well, change to another tactic. I know its a hedge, but one that can pay on both sides. If some one wants to learn the game of craps at the table in a casino with real money (which is foolish) this is a simple bet for them to make. if you double up,. leave
