Favorite casinos in Vegas

I would like to hear from the readers some of their favorite casinos in Vegas and why

Reason I ask is because for many years Caesars was my favorite but no more;the game there has slowed to a snail's pace and it is very hard to maintain tempo when shooting. The elimination of the boxman a while back started the slowdown;once Caesars went into bankruptcy some of the more senior dealers felt a great brand had been destroyed because of greed and the gap between workers and management widened resulting in worker slowdown.

I like Golden Nugget a lot;they run a good game,they have boxmen,dealers are efficient and they have stools for their patrons.

Paris, I got a sense that they are nervous of dice shooters.

Ballys was dead.

Cromwell runs a good game.

Rio is Ok but there is a lot of difference in the tables. The one closest to the roulette wheel and the one diagonal from it are my favorites. Don't start a conversation with the dealer who came from Chicago unless you want your ear chewed off. He never shuts up after you get him started. Also, they can get pretty ghetto on the weekends.

If you don't mind crowded tables the Orleans is decent but they never seem to have enough tables open.

If it wasn't for the nightclub crowd I would like the Cromwell. The last time I was there a drunk gave a dealer his debit card and then proceeded to argue with him for 5 minutes when the dealer told him he'd have to go to an ATM.

I like Bally's for the exact reason you stated. You can often play by yourself.

Paris has my number, I don't play there very often.

Venetian is OK if you catch the right crew. There's at least one dealer who starts at noon that is an absolute dickwad.

I like Bellagio and Aria but the tables can really ebb and flow as far as players coming and going.

The only table I played at NYNY I didn't like, too bouncy.

I liked the table that is open in the mornings at Mandalay bay but I have only been there once. Played by myself for 2 hours the last time I was there.

Gold Coast is good. if you toss repeaters try their repeater bet.

GN and the main street station are both good. They're the only places I've played recently downtown. The station casino is often pretty busy though.

If you have a toss that works good on microfiber the Palms is ok. They too attract the ghetto crowd.

I've never had any luck at the Flamingo and I've never been able to figure out why.

I like the tables at Harrahs but they've been too busy the last few times I walked through. It's been a couple years since I played there.

The place with 100 times odds is ok but the game moves slow and the dealers I've seen are crusty and cranky.

I like Ceasars, as I love the D shaped tables but they are slow and never have enough tables open in the mornings.

I think the Cromwell is a good all round experience. I like the table(s), good young crews generally, they have fast drink service and the waitresses are right up there with the Cosmo. Ideal am and afternoon. Can be a touch lively with the drunks and clubbing crowd at night as mentioned above.

I've never had any luck at the Flamingo and I've never been able to figure out why.

mssthis1, have you played Flamingo's tables this past year since they've redone the layouts? The old ones (blue) had significant bounce, but these new ones (burgundy) are a lot better. They still have a slight bounce, more so than the tables at Ballys and Paris which I consider neutral. I did okay the last few times I played them (Flamingo). Just curious.

Hi: Bankerdude. I played at the Flamingo sometime in 2015 but I can't remember exactly when. The table seemed to have potential, but I must have been tired or something. I never could get comfortable and part of it was my betting. If I remember correctly 2 or 3 hits and regress would have worked well.

While in Vegas later this month and early next month I'll be camping out at Sam's Town for a couple of days. They tend to sweat DI's in the afternoon/evening shifts but it's not that bad in the morning as long as you follow the "hit the back wall" rules. I'll be spending a few days at Bellagio as well. Love their tables but they've been abused so much by the locals that it's hard to get what I call a "good" game there. You'll also hear dealers making under-their-breath comments about DI's and "the Dominator" and Scoblete. Our group has managed to stay pretty-much under the radar with them, but apparently the other guys antics have branded all DI's with a bad name there. Last on my list of properties - I'll spend a few days at Rio. I like Rio for several reasons - but mostly because it's off-strip and they treat me well as far as comps are concerned. Decent tables. The dealers aren't bad. Rarely get any heat. However, since they've eliminated the boxman the games do tend to be on the slow side, as Kumar has mentioned already.

I like playing downtown most of all, but I don't get the kinds of offers I need comp-wise. The Grand was sending me lots of offers at one time, but since their recent change-over those have dried up. I'm persona non grata at the Golden Nugget. I've won too much money through the years at Four Queens so I can't manage a comp there of any significance. Not a fan of bedbugs, so I steer clear of most of the other places. My favorite places to play downtown are the Fremont, the Golden Nugget, Four Queens, and (yes, despite the heat) Binions. That's the "power corner" of downtown Vegas to my way of thinking.

We used to play out at M Resort a lot. Haven't been out there in several years. I'd be interested in hearing an update on that place. Ditto Silverton, which was a favorite when Roadrunner was alive and we'd hop over there from his place.

Irish: If you can catch the RIO in the mornings with the exception of ghetto weekend mornings it is usually quiet and you can often find a low populated table. I agree later in the day it is too busy and too loud. Also can be trying during the WSOP in June. Many of the poker players don't have a clue when it comes to craps etiquette and one in particular who should have a clue can be a total dickwad at the table sometimes.

I find the M playable and the dealer are pretty good.

Think they are cheap on their comps.

I play there once every time I go to Vegas. Usually a $5 table. 3-4-5 odds buy 4-10 at $20 with Vig on wins if I remember correctly.
