In the early days, a very few times, I started out betting a table minimum Pass Line wager and 1X odds . But my heart was on the Donts. I never felt comfortable betting the Rightside and soon switched to the Darkside exclusively . I evolved from a naked , flat DP wager to a DP laying odds.

Passline with 1 or 2 x odds. That was it. I didn't know what any of the other bets were.

Today could be any combination of low edge bets: passline/odds/come/6&8 sometimes even DP and DC and I have a weakness for AllTallSmall

My first efforts were PL and 1x odds, until I learned that not everyone were able to even hit a point much less get the dice to the backwall.
Now when I shoot, PL and 2x odds, then tiptoe in for the other inside numbers.

Started out with placing the 5, 6, 8 for $34 and $8 field after a 5 count. Don't do that no more.

Goodness. My first real craps game was a $500 buy in tourny at the 4 Queens in the early 70's. I lost it all in about 30 minutes - and could not leave the table. I had no clue what any of the bets were so I just played the Pass line as that was a must have bet and just got killed. I had no idea what a place bet or a DC or DP was. Then, I bought a $1.00 book and started reading and figuring it out. My original betting was PL only and parlay wins one time. These were $1.00 tables back then, heck, even $.25 cent tables in sawdust joints and even saw a $.10 game once. Then, up until I started the DI, I played strictly 6/8. $12 bucks each, increase $6.00 on a win. Sometimes, I made a bunch and lose it playing BJ. Back to the craps table, back to the BJ table, etc. After the Patterson course, I think in 2002, can't remember, my journey has evolved from being a shooter to giving up shooting as my coordination has vastly deteriorated. Now, I play strictly OH-CM regardless of who the shooter is. (Oh, my brother talked me into entering that tourney, I thought craps was a luck game anyways, and $500 bucks wasn't much money to me back then.) Thanks for bringing up those old memories.

OH-CM = one hit can't miss.

DF- is your bankroll still trending up versus flat or down?

When I first started it was 1 pass line and up to 3 come bets with double odds which was all they allowed around here back in those days.

Now it varies sometimes from minute to minute as I've learned to take what the table is giving. The majority of the time I bet across in varying amounts on myself and press after recouping the initial investment. On the majority of other shooters it is 1 DP with a varying amount of odds as I go up a unit after a loss and down a unit after a win.

My bankroll has been kind of flat for the two or three months. Right now it is exactly $12,524. This is not bragging by any means . I started going to casinos in August of 2000. So you can see that ain`t much for 16 years and a month of play.

We are leaving in a few minutes for a quick overnight stay at GS . We are leaving there about 6 AM in the morning, so I may get in a couple of hours play before our 6:30 reservation at the Chicago Steakhouse. After a 6:30 martini , I probably will not play after dinner.

I do hope to maintain my gambling bankroll. Bob Dylan is singing very nicely on the juke box here at home (well, now the Jukebox is you tube on a Nexus tablet).

Started with PL and 2 x's odds. Added the 6 & 8, then went to inside.

The DP and DC always intrigued me, quite a while back I dropped the right side and started playing DP with odds and 1 DC with odds. On occasion, (if naturals are rare on the C/O), I'll go to a flat bet. Same pattern 1 DP, 1 DC. If the table is real cold, I'll add 1 more DC.

DF- good to see your BR is holding up. Rumors are that nobody comes out a winner 'in the end,' but there's hope among your fellow darksiders that a slow, consistent, patient grind will send us out in the black. You're the lead scout in the darkness, my friend.

" You're the lead scout in the darkness, my friend."
Obviously the blind leading the blind in the darkness. That's a joke. DF is absolutely consistent and honest to a fault. And a great writer who lets that talent waste quite a bit. Absolutely a great wordsmith. I am sure others have this same opinion as mine.

Well , after playing two sessions yesterday . I thought about how I would have played those sessions ten years ago using the money management I used 10 years ago. You not only need a decent way to play craps , but you also need a way to manage your money while you ARE playing craps.

During my first session yesterday , I was ahead during the session around $75. Ten years ago , I would have left the table once I was down to being $50 ahead. Instead of just playing until the session ended yesterday with my being down $18.

The next session , I played yesterday , I was down around $70. Ten years ago , I would have pulled the plug on the session when I was down around $25 , preserving a $25 win for the day.

Also, 10 years ago, I was playing a naked , flat DP wager----one of the reason was because I was "Cowtippin`" and the other it was a lot easier figuring out the wins and losses when there were not as many of my chips piles up on the don't pass with layed odds.

Yesterday , I left the tables with a $6 win . Ten years ago , I think that I would have left with a $25 win for the day. I know a lot of you may have trouble thinking in these small numbers , but if I could win a dollar a shooter, and played 1 million shooters, I would be a millionaire.

I used to do 12$ 6&8. And switch to two 30$ dc after 5-6 rolls. Take em down if it gets to 12 rolls. Would get 150-300$ a night avg profit.

Now I like to go with the table hotness or look for good dice tosser. Bet 12$ 6 or 8 and 10$ come, and keep tossing come bet. After 3 comes go 20$ come for two bets and go back to 10 then for hedging, if the hand pass 10ish rolls, place 2x odds. On randy or badlucked guys, I go 15$ dp, 10dc then 20dc. If one gets striked, max odd on the least expected to come (4-10)

Dan if you were getting 150-300 a night av profit why didn't you just stick with what you were doing? :)

OOOPS! Made a typo.

Should be DP with odds and 2 DC with odds. I'll add one more DC if the table is real cold.

WOTCO
6 $12
8 $12
One hit, both down---wait for the seven, repeat.
Lose---martingale $24 each, $48, etc.
Rarely needed to go past $96
Boring and time consuming but effective.
