An All Tall & Dont's Play

Here's a little hybrid play of sorts involving dark side play with an All Tall bonus bet allowing you to maybe capitalise on a longer roll.

So, firstly the come-out:

$15 DP
$40 lay on the 10
$5 All Tall

The good:

2 or 3, you win $15 on your DP. Rack or stack depending on your preference in these situations.
12 - DP pushes, but it's a great start to the Tall.
7 out - no harm done. The lay on the 10 gets you back in the game.

The bad:
11 - lose your DP, so reload, but at least you have a useful number marked on the Tall

The ugly:
10 - you get whacked for $40, but you have some consolation in that your DP is now playing a preferred number, plus you have started your Tall with the trickiest box number gone. Sometimes that 10 is coming back to bite you again though and that is really ugly on this play........

Following the come-out game, once a number as been established, take down the lay on the 10 and wait and see how things develop. An immediate PSO gives you $10 profit - 15DP less the 5 lost on the Tall. My preference is to wait until two numbers have been marked on the Tall bet, then place a $10 DC. Here a 7 is going to be a wash - 15DP less 10 DC and 5 Tall. Again an 11 is not good, but may be useful to your Tall bet. Your choice if you reload the DC after an 11 or not. I may do once only.

Assuming you get a DP and one DC established, you are in fairly good shape. Quick 7 out brings profit, continued hand of length leaves you dodging bullets, but your Tall may develop nicely. If the shooter does make his/her point then you are losing your $15DP and will need a passline/DP in play to keep the Tall running. After one point you may decide to go passline instead as a transition move and some protection on the Tall. But also consider that you may well still have a DC in play and that gives you 7-out protection on the new come-out.

If you get to the stage of the Tall just having a single box number left to complete, then a lay can be considered given the bet pays $175 and gives you some nice hedge room if you wish.

All in all this is never got to be the best mathematical play and probably needs some finessing, but I was looking at finding a don't play that did have something running in the background if a shooter gets hot.

Throughout the weekend I've watched other players Lay against the final number needed to hit the All wager on the All, Tall, Small layout. At least that's been the case when one of the box numbers is what's missing to hit the All. Let's say you have $2-2-2 on the ATS and have been paid $70 for the Tall. The shooter needs the four to complete the wager. If he hits the four you'll win $70 for the Small and $350 for the All. That's $420 total. So, you lay $300 against the four. If it rolls you'll get paid the $420 and lose $300 for a net $120 profit. If he sevens out you lose $420 but win $150 (approx) on the Lay bet. So you are effectively guaranteeing your self $120 - $150 by laying the final point.

I lay frequently, but only for 1/3 and no more than half the payout if I hit it.
I prefer $5-5-5. I've hit all 2 times.... the Small and the Tall about 1 in every 8-10 tries.
Hit the Lay, more times than I can remember.
The worst is when it's a crap number needed for the All.

Used to do the same on the Fire. Won big on the 6th number lay bet on someone else's throw. Established the 6th point, I layed over a thousand and he SO next throw.
