Bubble Craps

Wasn't sure if this is the right subforum to start a thread dedicated to bubble craps, but while the rules are the same as the game we all know and love, it is inherently different from the game we all practice at. Heavy, feel free to relocate this if you think it belongs elsewhere.

There's been some discussion about the game on other threads lately that I thought it was time to create a thread dedicated to it so that the initial comments didn't get lost and so that we could have a home to chat about it.
mssthis1 wrote:I know you guys don't like them because they don't take classes, but the bubble machines are a great place to try out you lay bet strategies at 3.33% the cost of a live table in some cases. The one they put in at my local casino allows $1 lay bets and pays to the penny, vig on wins only. I often lay $6.00 across and reverse press $1 per box number roll, till I catch a seven, $10 per point max pain.

Where it's located, I can watch the live tables for a good shooting opp. to arise from there and I often can grind out $100 an hour playing that way.

I've done well playing SIA's one hit - can't miss. My biggest problems is getting my bets in before the time limit expires. But like you - I can make $60 - $100 an hour on them with relatively conservative play.
Personally, I've never run into one of these games so I have no real skin in this game to contribute yet. But I would still love to hear other's experiences and ways to approach the game that differ from the more traditional game we all know and love.

i'll say something which has nothing to do with the odds and payouts of the game but I cannot ever seem to get my bets on properly in the time allocated on these machines. Me and fat fingers on a touch screen just do not get on.

Agreed. There is a "same bet" button on most of them, which is fine if that's what you want to do. In most cases, for me, it's not.

Time can be a constraint but remember that you don't get penalized for making a bet in an amount that is not proper on a regular table because they pay to the penny.

If I'm going to bet say $32.00 across including, I bet the $5 chips first and if I don't make it back to the six and eight to add the last dollar you will still get paid $5.83 instead of the $5 you would have gotten paid on a regular table if one of them hits.

One thing I don't like is you can't work some bets and not others on a comeout roll. If I want hardways only working on a comeout you have to take everything else down first. If it's a roll that has progressed to the point where box number bets are assorted values,I usually just forget about working hardways on the comeout.

I often do things you can't do on live tables like lay every number for $1 on comeout rolls or press every number $1 after a hit instead of pressing just the number that hit. You'll get some headshakers sometimes when someone who doesn't realize they pay to the penny sees you have $7 on box numbers instead of the proper live table bet. lol.

Another plus is many casinos put them close to the regular craps table so you can watch and wait for your favorite shooting spot to open up on the live table.

Does anyone know why most Bubble Craps machines (at least the ones I see) say they don't give points toward comps on those machines? Is it just because you can bet Pass and Don't Pass at the same time and still gain comps?

I so wish we had computer based craps in Australian casinos. I won't play online craps games. But would play it in casinos because they are regulated.

Yes, but how would you win?

On computer apps / wincraps / random number generators, I play a hybrid dark side negative and positive progression, and place bets for a couple of hits and regress or down, depending on if in a negative or positive swing.

Sounds similar to what I do. Are you making lay bets or DP/DC bets?

DP mostly with anything $30 or over hedged by a lay on a 4 or 10 to closely cover it. Doesn't have to be exact. But if it gets knocked off then I'll lay odds to get it back. If it bullfrogs then I'll change up for the next few hands to regroup.

The problem isn't the low risk, it's the low vig. Slot machines may have a 10% vig or more, VP is often considered at least 5% for average players and paytables. On machine craps where they pay points, they will usually pay points on all action including odds, so the vig per $ wagered could be < 1%.

I was playing craps at a machine to earn some points, and realized that even though the max odds were 1:1, DP max odds are determined by the payback so you could go even more and get points on the full wager amount.

Thanks mssthis1 for your reply i have played there twice in the last 3 weeks. What i don't like at harrahs is the max bet is only $30 for each ind.bet not good for progressive betting.I Have won both times but not much because having to start out at $3 a bet but a win is a win.
