high limit tables, $300 buy in
How would you play the newer $25 min tables with a buy in under $500? Would you? Should you? I've seen references to the doey/don't. If I was shooting, I would have a tendency to go for the don't, take odds and throw for seven. Maybe this has been covered. If so..refer me.

Re: high limit tables, $300 buy in
I've been mulling this over too. I hate making a big outlay and getting burned. On randies, I've pondered placing just a $30 six or eight and working bets up and out. (e.g. First hit, collect. Second hit, place the sister number 6 or 8. Third hit, collect. Fourth hit, press both to $42 each. Build up and out if hand continues. This way I am limiting any potential loss to $30 per shooter.
Heavy had a similar play on a URComped video, only he placed both the six and eight for $30 each (a $60 outlay). For randies, that play is a bit rich for me. If I am the shooter I might incorporate Heavy's play plus a minimal PL bet, no odds. Make the PL odds bet by feeding it from won place bets if hand allows.
Darkside play is tough. You have to contend with the Sheriff (7) and Deputy (11), but if you're the shooter and can avoid those, then it may be worthwhile. The OHCM play can be a tough slog too, especially on randies. Not only do you have to contend with the Sheriff and Deputy, but chances are the randie will establish a six or eight as his/her point minimizing potential profit.
I don't know the ideal answer, but if it was me and I had a minimal session bankroll, I would be leaning towards minimizing my outlay as much as possible. Or, play less sessions and increase my session bankroll that way.
A $300 bankroll limits you to 10 shooters including yourself if making a $30 bet on each. Bet on five shooters, you can increase that average to $60. Take multiple bathroom breaks, leaving the table each time after you shoot. This way you decrease your outlay and your exposure to other shooters. You may miss the hot roll, but as we know there's never a sure fire answer in this game.

Maybe dodging the question but i dont think i would play. If forced i would probably try and make timely lay bets on randies, not playing the pass line at all. On myself it would be on a hand by hand basis betting according to how i felt the session and my toss was going.

Home table workout with a $25 5 and 9. First hit of $35 brings yr footprint down to $15. You can switch the bets over to 6 and 8 for $25 each. Yes, this is weird, but you satisfy the casino and get $29 on a hit. Nothing says you have to put $30 on a 6 and 8. Or you can start out that way on 6 and 8. There are ways. Yes..you are giving the casino a dollar free ride for which you get nothing, they got their rules. They need to see at least $25.
Re: high limit tables, $300 buy in
I've used the play BankerDude outlined, placing just a single 6 or 8 bet, collecting the first, placing the sister on the second, press both to $42 on the third. For the initial place bet, I wait until I get 2 hits on either the high or low side and place the number on that side hoping that the trend continues.
On myself, with that short of a bankroll, I'd probably just get bets on the 6 and 8, collect the first hit. For the second hit, it would depend on what the point was. If the point was something other than a 6 or 8, I'd collect again to narrow my exposure further.

30 dollar Dont or DC bet. Only lose 2 bets to shooter.
If you like right side play. 25 pass line with single odds? Not sure? I do like place six and eight for 30 each. Going to be a grind with a limited bankroll in my opinion.

A lot of folks in Biloxi do $26 dollar 6&8’s. First hit go to $30.
Re: high limit tables, $300 buy in
I accidentally bought in on $50 table saturday night... i did my usual iron cross to measure my toss ( i was like why is nobody on this table or the one next to it). But i had placed 120 inside with a 25 in the field. Rolled a three..... didnt get paid ... said that field should have been on my pass, then was when i realized i was on 50 table . Point rolled 9 ... i put 50 in the field ... rolled three 3s anf then 9 ... thank you but im on the wrong table. Goodnight dealer friends. Two tables, 50 min, both empty .... i went to the diamond lounge, had nice Jameson, and off to bed.
If your gonna color up, there needs to be paint on the brush.
Re: high limit tables, $300 buy in
there was a discussion about this on one of the FB pages. I know i have a players perspective but i dont see how empty tables with crews working benefits the casino. When i was in Biloxi at one casino i watched a couple of tables stay empty most of the day until evening while another casino had a full table every time i tried to play. The full table had $10 minimum. Two tables, 50 min, both empty

I like the BankerDude play as well, especially lately as no DP is safe until after the first point sigh. Though the third hit goes in the rail. I’m seldom seeing that third randy hit, and then only press the one that hits.22Inside wrote: ↑Sun Aug 30, 2020 3:48 pm I've used the play BankerDude outlined, placing just a single 6 or 8 bet, collecting the first, placing the sister on the second, press both to $42 on the third. When I’m shooting on a $25 table, that I know, it’s game on and I make sure and bet the ATS. If it’s a new situation and I’m shooting then it’s pass line only and ATS if they have it; until I learn the bounces.

This subject is largely going to be covered in this month's newsletter - which I SHOULD and WOULD have put together this past few days had my older daughter not been bitten by a raccoon early Tuesday morning - which led to spending the better part of a week tracking down rabies vaccine for less than $7000 an injection (times eight injections - none of which are covered by her fantastic ObamaCare insurance plan) AND the ONLY physician in my County who can administer the damn stuff. And no, none of this information was available from her family physician, the hospital emergency room, the Texas Health Department, or the Animal Control Department. Who'd have thought there wasn't a procedure in place for this kind of thing? Sigh. Anyway, crisis averted, but what a bullshit week. Watch for the newsletter - hopefully before week end.

Theorically. You shouldn't play the table.
If you want to gamble for short period and have more exposure...only two strategy viable is dp+dc and 6&8 to spread.
But like I said...unless you have a good BR and are willing to take a shot for a short session, don't.

And also the $31 no 5 or 9 or the other no bets.
Re: high limit tables, $300 buy in
I would buy for 300. With 600 more behind if game rolls right, not to miss out.irish wrote: ↑Wed Sep 02, 2020 8:41 am This question is really no different for me than "would I buy into a table with six players?"" While I have the bankroll to support this play (I'd buy in for more than what was stated), it breaks average bet rules for me. That makes it a no-go. I'm never so desperate to play that I break my most basic rules.
Nothing wrong with taking a shot if you're bankrolled.
But don't take a shot at it just bcuz.

My attempts to write a reply to this sound way too negative. (Not my intention)
Instead I will point to what Irish and Danf wrote above and wait to see What Heavy says in the newsletter, and see if our thoughts coincide.

Nick, I would love to have your take on minimum buy in for $25 table. My thoughts go from $1000 to $500 per $5 line bet or $2500

Re: high limit tables, $300 buy in
I am of the opinion that it depends on how you use it. If you are going to play a regular PL, max odds, come bet..or place inside..or all even numbers, $2500 sounds about right. If you are going to snipe at random shooters with don'ts or play a don't game on your shooting, knowing you can pull a seven..why not $300? But I don't think you can last long since chop mathwise is the primary area you will always play in and no matter how good a DI you are at making sevens appear..that will deteriorate.

Re: high limit tables, $300 buy in
I'm with the latter, DC bets on myself, when I'm trying to roll a seven, seems like counter productive. A $25 table produces a more acceptable win, assuming you have the table dialed in. So for me $1000.
