practice for boomtown new orleans trip strategy

Post by olddogcrapper » Wed Mar 24, 2021 1:27 am

So my first trip coming up since covid started. I decided to do 100 rolls with a7's hw 3v 2v s6's p6's and x6's. Only one left is the hw to do this night or morning at 1am. Sharpening my toss by checking my grip, release and follow through trying to concentrate and throw the perfect toss every time giving it my best. So far without the hw set the 3v is working the best. Only 10 7's out of 100 rolls compared to the others which are between 13 and 19. Of course some of them you are supposed to roll more 7's , so sticking to the friendly sets 3v the best as for as 7's are concerned so far, followed by the x6's. The x6's produce 3 more 7's @ 13 but man the hw's I'm hitting with the x6's set is unreal. Especially the 4 and 6. 3v good with the hw's on 4 8 and 10. I get more 5's with the x6's and more nines with the 3v which is something I'm going to have to remember for the ats. Also have been reviewing Heavy's books from the coaching I had with him to sharpen my come out strategies and also the especially the dark side which I hardly ever use. I'm planning on going early Monday morning so I don't know what the crowd will be like when the tables open up. Hopefully not many people so I can get in, get up and get out ! Not sure of the table amount but before covid when I first started I was playing at the most $22 inside being a chicken. But after pratice and all of the advice on this forum I grew up and played $66 inside for 5 hits down and out. I only want to win $100 dollars per day so I'm fine with that. $100 x 30 days=$3000 which helps supplement my retirement. So I'm fine with $15 dollar tables if that is what I encounter. Love all of you crapshooters here and wish you all all the best. May the best of luck follow all of you to enhance the skill you already have or are working on.

sounds like what I get with 3V. 8s, 9s, 4s and the occasional 6 and 10.

I get a lot of off-axis hard eights and tens with the crossed sixes and always bet them with that set. Good luck. Be sure to post a trip report.

Good luck on your trip, I’m glad you are practicing and preparing (especially for higher minimums-which could require a larger bankroll).

That said, I’d like to present a contrarian viewpoint as there’s more than one way to skin a cat - though the cat doesn’t want to part with their skin....

I did not see any mention of Bonetracker and fear your 100 tosses are too small of a sample size. However since you have a 100 of v3, v2, x6, S6, P6, A7, and HW set tosses; why not transpose them all into a neutral V3? Btw HW and A7 are the same axial. Now you have 700 tosses, you can find your highest SRR and then dig into the Coaster Chart:

AF28BEBC-574D-446D-8F33-749C23F9DE5B.jpeg
AF28BEBC-574D-446D-8F33-749C23F9DE5B.jpeg (272.09 KiB) Viewed 43586 times

16 of the 24 Coaster Groups are V3/V2/X6 combinations with one pair of sevens on axis. All 24 sets in a Group have the same SRR. Each of the 16 “green” Groups has eight V3s, eight V2s, and eight X6s sets; bone tracking these twenty four sets will show you which are hardway rich, which produce high quantities of box numbers, horn numbers, 6s, 8s, etc. with this knowledge you can freely switch between X6s, V2s, and V3, without an arbitrary reduction in SRR.

Give it a look, there are diamonds in the rough, and good luck in NOLA, DN8R 🎲🎲 💎💎

Ps I’ll have a clearer looking chart next week, this pic is from a screen shot

Pretty much going to stick with box numbers. $25 $25 $30 $30 $25 $25
Been hitting mostly box numbers on my rolls so figure 4 hits then press and collect. Have been hitting a lot of hardways though so maybe toss a few dollars on them. Was playing $66 inside but was missing hits on the 4 and ten. So I decided to go across.

Tried to post file from BT says can't because of extension ...
To post a BT image you have to take a screen shot then save it to the Paint program on your PC. Then crop it and save the cropped shot as a jpg image. You can then post the image as an attachment to your post. Be sure to re-size your image so that it is not more than 720 pixels wide or it will distort the screen on everyone's computers all out of whack. Before inserting the attachment in your post be sure to click on the screen, putting your cursor where you want the image inserted. Then click on the insert button under the attachment. That will insert the link to the attachment and it will appear when you submit the post. Magic.

For what it's worth, virtually ALL of my primary and mutant sets are found in column 10 of the Coaster Chart. I discovered those sets the old fashioned way (read hard way) but I damn sure did not know all 24 of them. Now I have a ton of work ahead of me exploring all of the ones I wasn't familiar with that kick off the same SRR but with different signature numbers.

Glad you enjoyed the YouTube program, it was a lot of fun for us.....

I don’t want to sound like I’m splitting hairs, but I guess I am....Bonetracker only transposes sets you give it. You may know it’s a V3, but BT only does the transpose work/math. For instance I have V2s that are strong horn producers, V3s that are strong 4/10 producers, and X6s that hammer 6 or 8s.

The set label is irrelevant. What is relevant is for that set that produces an SRR of 10, there are 23 other sets in its Coaster Group that also produce a 10 SRR. Some of those sets will be rich in even numbers, or horns, or fields or 5/9s, etc. use BT to find those sets that have the high distribution of the number(s) you want and then practice with those sets to verify their effectiveness

Good luck in NOLA, we’ll be looking for your trip report, DN8R

It was reading about Heavy's practice routine that got me off the marathon tracking sessions, hell that was over ten years ago, 08 i think. It was funny reading about the same thing in a book printed two years after that. Gave me the idea of training, practice hands, and tracking as three separate events

I think if you are practicing regularly, you should track, more data means better analytics, solid data gives better transposes, DN8R

So Darth. I use hw set with 4's on top and 2's facing me. To read that chart I would look at the 4422 row?

Yes that’s Coaster Group # 1, 14th row, though row isn’t significant that I’ve been able to discern.

If you transpose to any set in each column you can quickly see which Groups have high SRRs, then you can start looking at number distributions, DN8R

Well, since it's my birthday I went to boomtown last night to scout it out and check the tables. Well they have the one regular table I used to play on $25 min. No plexiglass. They removed the other perfectly good table and replaced it with one that seems to have plexiglass booths and a plexiglass table top ! WTF ! So I tried out the weird table and walked away with $216 profit. Seems the dice reacted ok on it, but I prefer the real table because of friendships and such. Was really scouting, but the real table was full so I tried out this computerized new one with a short distance to the wall and had an 18 roll. Surprised that the dice didn't bounce all over the place.
