Hey Dice Influencers and Axis Power Craps forum members!
g
It's Mainframe. I haven't been around for probably a year, so I figured I would stick my head in and just say hello. Not sure what sub-forum to post such a general non-topical message to.
As for Craps itself...I haven't been to any casinos to play bank craps at a live dealer table for a very long time, with a few exceptions:
1.) I did a quick hit and run at Rivers Casino in Schenectady about a month ago. It was literally 1 hour or less...I walked in, waited for an open spot at a crowded socially distanced craps table (with annoying plastic dividers that make controlled tosses very difficult). I played a little bit on a hot roller at a $15 table, got myself "up" $88, and walked out in a hurry
2.) back in summer 2020 I did a few quick day trips to Atlantic city. Same horrible play conditions with the clear plastic dividers.
3.) I want to Mt Airy Casino in the Poconos once in spring 2020. At the time, everyone had face covering, but there were no annoying plastic dividers. Not sure if that changed for worse since then
I'd love to hit the tables and roll the bones again, but I am not particular fond of the pandemic risk mitigation measures on the east coast, specifically clear plastic dividers covering the entire craps pit/craps tub.
Are play conditions better in LV or on the gulf coast or anywhere else?

mainframe,
I think most places are easing up or on the verge of doing so. I was in Biloxi a few weeks back. only one casino had plexi. none were really stringent on per side players all required mask but i think that is changing. No plexi in lake charles or Shreveport the same week. Some Oklahoma casinos have dropped all covid protocols including mask. I let some of the other guys speak for Vegas.

Big-o: thanks for the quick feedback on play conditions in Gulf Coast casinos and Oklahoma venues.Big O wrote: ↑Mon May 10, 2021 2:52 pm mainframe,

Personally, I hate wearing a mask, and I find it unnecessary because I am fully vaccinated, but I go along with it because I don't want to create a scene every time I walk into a convivence store or supermarket, and because it is the "norm" in places like New York and New Jersey, even in May 2021. Also, I don't want people who are very afraid to be worried I somehow am being inconsiderate.
Not trying to stir the pot on the mask debate. But related to craps, it definitely would be nice to not have to toss under plexiglass barriers, and itd be EXTRA nice to not have to wear a surgical mask walking around a casino.

Mainframe,
Welcome back!
Vegas is a hodgepodge of plexiglass, non-plexiglass and social distancing measures. A few places (like Wynn/Encore) have removed the plexi; a few never put it up.
We are expecting many changes, on or around June 1. The only certainty is the Gov has said masks are still mandatory in June
I try to provide Vegas updates on my Prowls the Valley thread, DN8R

Welcome back Mainframe! Gee I was going to use the initials for Main Frame but that looked like it might inappropriate! As I understand there are several places wide open in Biloxi now no mask, no plexi no social distancing. So I'm booked to go 5/23 I'm just like my dog I have had all my shots. I can't wait to get there to be like it was before.

Darth Nater: Thanks for your reply. I will check out your dedicated play conditions thread "on the prowl in LV" or such.
I have never been to any gulf coast gambling destinations, but going to Biloxi is on my long-term "Gotta do it once" list (Not a fan of the term "bucket list"). I was going to say "hey, maybe I can kill two birds with one stone by combining a trip to Shreveport with a trip to New Orleans, but once I found out it is a 5 hour drive, doesn't seem quite as attractive as a "combo vacation".
Grinder, yes, I think that a long time ago, another forum member pointed out that "M.F.er" as an abbreviation for my "handle", Mainframe, just has a negative ring to it:) Lol!grinder2017 wrote: ↑Mon May 10, 2021 6:24 pm Welcome back Mainframe!
