Link me up: where can I read about Vegas vs Biloxi payouts?
I've been searching the forum and finally resorted to my weak GoogleFu and can't find a source that lists differences between crap games in Vegas vs Mississippi. I've never had to leave the Biloxi area for a game, so I've long forgotten the Vegas (rest of the world) vigs and payoff practices. Would one of you kind gents steer me to something I can read or print?
Thanks!
Thanks!
Re: Link me up: where can I read about Vegas vs Biloxi payouts?
There are two big rule differences in Mississippi that are to the players advantage.
- Mississippi rules have auto buy on 4/10 AND the 5/9 starting at $20.
- Vigs are paid on the back end and not up front.
Most MS casinos offer 10x odds.
But in terms of the payouts, the rules on odds on all bets are the same in MS as they are everywhere else.

Most Strip casinos do not collect the vig up front on the first Buy on the Four and Ten, but it may vary from property to property. Off strip you'll likely have to pay the juice up front.
Vegas is primarily 3-4-5X odds. Downtown you'll find 2X odds at the Fremont. It varies at the other properties. Main Street Station traditionally has the best game with 20X odds. There are no casinos in Vegas offering 100X odds at this point.

Most places here collect the vig on the Buy 4 or 10 on the win. Those that let you buy the 5 and 9 ask for it up front.
Everyone is different on 4/10 Lays, some want it upfront, some on the win. Everyone wants the vig upfront on the 5/9 lay. The breakage also varies, but depending on the day and the box person you can push them

Nate, are you saying, at crapless table, all numbers, except 6 & 8, are buys at $10 with vig on win? This is the Tunica Standard, which went to $20 about the time of Katrina, as Parson mentioned.
Re: Link me up: where can I read about Vegas vs Biloxi payouts?
Like you said, Heavy, hardly anyone ever took 100X odds nor even 50X odds. The only thing really good about a 100X odds tables is that you could take odds for any arbitrary number of units as long as it was divisible based on correct odds payouts. I guess the same holds true for a 20X odds table as well. I haven't seen too many people taking 20X odds either, but its certainly nice to have the option.heavy wrote: ↑Sun Jul 11, 2021 2:46 pm Most Strip casinos do not collect the vig up front on the first Buy on the Four and Ten, but it may vary from property to property. I read there is a casino in Henderson called Joker's Wild with a $1 table minimum.

That’s what I encountered at the Strat. I don’t recall what MGM or Caesar’s crapless rules are. Last week someone was doing $104 across and paying on the win, DN8RHouse of Orange wrote: ↑Mon Jul 12, 2021 10:14 am Nate, are you saying, at crapless table, all numbers, except 6 & 8, are buys at $10 with vig on win? Re: Link me up: where can I read about Vegas vs Biloxi payouts?
Thanks very much for the quick replies, Guys!
I've been putting off responding to ya'll because I wanted to wait til I came back from the casino with a report. I've moved from beloved Miss'ippi to SW Missouri and have waited for most of the Covid social and gambling mandates to ease.
The closest casino to me is the Downstream Casino and Resort in Joplin (on the Oklahoma border), so I went there Friday for the second time. The first time was two weeks ago, but at 4pm they only had one table open with 9 shooters, so I didn't play. Friday, both tables were open; one table had 6 shooters and the other had 8 shooters. I stayed observing at the "6" table for about 30 minutes. In that time, the dice cycled the table 3x. I watched the "8" table for another ~30 minutes and gave up; neither table ever had a run of more than 5 place numbers hit; in that hour I think I saw four point numbers made. LOTS of prop numbers interspersed through what I figure was the expected 5-8 roll hands. PLENTY of PSO and PPSOs.
This casino has a rule--one cannot buy in and bet only on oneself; you may stand mute, but one MUST bet on the bettor to your right (preceding you) in order to throw the dice when it's your turn. Needless to say, I didn't buy in, though at a couple instances I was tempted to buy in and DC the game but even that was too choppy with the frequent sprinkling of CO 7s, 11s and the odd repeating place numbers (though DAMN few points were made).
No winners, lots of rebuys, numerous "standing mute" bettors, and I was happy to sit it all out as an observer, despite being "armed" with my newly-acquired knowledge about vig on the buys.
I may not have played, but I still appreciate all ya'lls' quick answer to my question. Oops, I forgot... 10x Odds at Downstream.

Boy, that sucks! Missing Biloxi yet?
Re: Link me up: where can I read about Vegas vs Biloxi payouts?
Wow Dork that casino rule is extreme fascism. I would not enjoy such a rule and would have a hard time betting on some chicken feeding Randy to my right. The casino would not be on my list of visits. That rule is one for the annals of "Evil Casino Policies."This casino has a rule--one cannot buy in and bet only on oneself; you may stand mute, but one MUST bet on the bettor to your right (preceding you) in order to throw the dice when it's your turn.

Finally got back in, one note to the minimums on the 5&9 …. Harrahs is a $40 min ….. beau gives you the dollar for the $25, wins 36, i believe that Hard Rock does not.
Harrahs charges the vig on extremes up front, beau has stopped.

Re: Link me up: where can I read about Vegas vs Biloxi payouts?
That Harrah's starting at $40 makes it worthwhile to go to $40 on a press instead of $35 if that is what you are used to in your normal press schedule from either $15 or $25.
- $35 pays $50 for 1
- $40 pays $60 for 2

The Palace, Nugget and Treasure Bay all let me buy the 5 and 9 for $20 with vig of $1 paid on a win. The Palace will let me go to $38 with $1 vig on 5 and 9.

So then, at the Beau, buying the extremes, vig on win, are the least vig bets in craps!!
