Let us know the table conditions when you get back. The only place I've played craps in Reno is at Harrah's. The last time I went to Reno I was pretty much playing Blackjack exclusively. I'd like to go there again sometime this year.

I played at the Legacy for about 20 minutes the first afternoon - same friendly dealers and tables as December. If Sands wasn't so good to us this is where I'd probably hang in Reno.

Couldn't get in at Harrah's that one night and played a little at the Dirty Neva and that was no good due to a dude who came to the game high on something. He had the best roll LOL but was barely coherent and we got out of there quickly.

Sands was home base as always in Reno and continue to love that nice hard table there. Ended up ahead for the week though not enough to cover Susie Fever's slot losses. Had several rolls that had potential to become monsters but never quite got there. Just decent wins each night.
And never paid for a thing all week there and again got their biggest suite so it was an awesome trip ... especially since bowling was good and nearly great.
Just no time to write trip report(s) between the real job and my bowling news website 11thFrame . com.

Will be back in Reno Dec. 3-12 to cover the PBA World Series of Bowling.

I think all properties will have this soon enough. Or at least all the Harrahs.

Since casinos have to pay a percentage to the firebet and ATS (Galaxy Gaming) companies, I feel there is some disagreement on the firebet so maybe that's why more casinos are movie by away from it.

Pretty sure there is a higher casino vig on the ATS as compared to the fire bet. If the casinos are paying to use the bets then they might as well go with the one that will make them the most money---read higher vig--in the long run.

Well the HA of the firebet is approx 3 x that of the ATS, but I reckon you are correct RR in that the casino is making more money from the ATS via numerous reloads - often many times per shooter v only one bet per shooter on the fire.

Also I feel people are much more likely to bet more on the ATS eg 2/1/2 ATS whereas they may only drop a dollar on the Fire.

Now casino gets 7.7% of $5 as opposed to 20.7% of $1

LS,
Thanks for the correction. Just curious. Since my math is not very good obviously, is the "all" (excluding the small and tall) a lower vig than the fire bet or higher? Thanks!

Percentages are 7.75 small/tall, 7.45 all and 20.73 for the firebet - all taken from the excellent "Craps Side Bets" section on the Wizard of Vegas website.

Dealers at Harrah's Joliet said they will be adding ATS to fire bet, not replacing.

What's next at Harrahs, Crapless Craps? That's the reason I quit playing Indiana. Two tables open, one Crapless.

In the Kansas City market Harrah's and Ameristar both have crapless and more than once in the mornings I found the crapless table was the only one open.

I searched and found no answer to a question I have about crapless craps.

No crap loss on the come out for the right side. How does this impact the don't side?

Is there a reward for a natural on the right side and a loss for the don't side?

Thanks in advance

DS

Hi Dark Side: Unless some casinos allow lay bets there is no way to play the don't side on a crapless craps game.

Right there is no "Do Not Pass" line on a Crapless table. Bob Stupak invented the game, Need I say more?

I wonder if you Laid the 12 for 100 what it would pay, probably 10 bucks. Whoo Hoo

Thanks for the replies. I wouldn't want to play the game from either side. Was just trying to figure out how some one would play the don't.

$150.00 lay would pay $25.00 on the 2 or 12. I don't think people would be flocking to the table to make that bet.

Even I will admit that sounds like way too much haha. The firebet plus ATS must be hell on wheels for the dealers

Harrah's Reno going to one table. Down from 14 during its prime! They sure didn't like it when I hit the ATS last month. Needed 2 & 12. Sniped the 2 rotated my set 180 deg and immediately tossed the 12. Luv it when it goes down like that. They immediately switched the dice to a frosted pair. Hit 5 to the fire at Harrah's Lake Tahoe the day before. Needless to say I really like playing in that part of the county. Would rather all bonus bets were gone though...

Nice to hear from you, BigShot. Glad to see you're still out there sniping them out. Don't be a stranger.

Checking in, long shot but has anyone been to Metropolis lately?

My search didn’t yield any solid results.

I’ll be in downtown Vegas oct 17 but if I could make a “quick” drive to metropolis before then I might do it.

From the podcasts I listen to fire bet is slowly dying out.

I heard Metropolis (and Illinois casinos too?) aren’t doing s so well ; anyone been there to give a run-down? Is it still decent? Have they replaced fire bet with All-Tall-smAll?
