They removed the other perfectly good table and replaced it with one that seems to have plexiglass booths and a plexiglass table top ! WTF ! So I tried out the weird table and walked away with $216 profit. Seems the dice reacted ok on it, but I prefer the real table because of friendships and such. Was really scouting, but the real table was full so I tried out this computerized new one with a short distance to the wall and had an 18 roll. It was reading about Heavy's practice routine that got me off the marathon tracking sessions, hell that was over ten years ago, 08 i think. It was funny reading about the same thing in a book printed two years after that. Gave me the idea of training, practice hands, and tracking as three separate events
I think if you are practicing regularly, you should track, more data means better analytics, solid data gives better transposes, DN8R
Right now I don't have the consistency to look for other sets to use. I am tracking for progress so I track once a week. The marathon tracking I was doing was cranking out a book a week.

That level of practice is worth tracking, I’d track as much as possible, if only to validate consistency, DN8R

Played at treasure chest a couple of times but the dealers were falling asleep , not marking the ats and such. Even with having to tell the dealers to mark the ats and remind them of payoffs, never had any luck with 2 visits there. Harrah's has $25 minimum crapless table , never played on it, but it was hot and full the night I went. Boomtown my favorite. It's kinda like a mom and pop store of casinos. Not much heat if you happen to not hit the wall, friendly and awake dealers, and service really good. Also the table there is exactly like the one I practice on at home as far as the action of the dice goes. Always have good luck there, even though there are days when I hit my loss limit. More winning days than not.

olddogcrapper, are you going across? I have been wargaming that, seems to work, at home..

DarthNater, I was tossing to track, not training, not practicing, just tracking. Then read about how heavy was doing it, started breaking out the tracking sessions. What I found by doing that was that some days I sucked less than others LOL. I did find a slim POI and that it would go for three or four tosses, the the left side would show, then the right side, then back to the POI. Now I use the clock to track my training(how long it takes me to get to my training goals), and my play bankroll to track the home hands. This go round, it made sense to use BT (I train and practice on 1/4 volar, and track on two layers of felt). I want to find the low range of my speed. Its going to take a while.

I was playing $66 inside but found I was missing money on the 4 and 10. So I decided to go across. 5 hits and down and gone ! lol When I rolled 18x at boomtown, I was feeling it and decided to play out the hand.

Feeling it? LOL, I know that feeling, but I swear it seems like when I don't trust it, it works, and when I do ,it fails. I think i need to learn how to say the most power full words in craps when the idea of the seven enters my brain, "Turn every thing off", then go to the second phase of the hand, one come bet. wait a two tosses, make the decison to come down, or regress, or turn them back on. Sounds easy, learning how to do it, another story.

Yes, I get that sevens demon in my head sometimes too. I take a deep breath and say demons be gone ! lol But in reality if my tosses are going well and I get that gut feeling "intuition" I go with it. There's never any guarantees though. I remember when I worked the come out for the first time. I was like do you really want to do this. Then I thought well it's a roll like any other , a seven can come anytime. Scary part is when you're betting across you can lose it with one roll. Then again you can lose it on the 2nd or third as well.I accidentally rolled working on that computerized table because there's no turn off your bets button. I set it up ahead of time and they stayed working. You set up after the come out and then the bets are off on your next come out after you make your point.

Yes, I think it's a good idea to track every time you roll. When I had about 3 or 4 months practice on my table wasn't as consistent as I would have liked to be, but chose a set out of the transpsoe 64 that had a high ssr. Practiced it and it seemed to work. Went to the casino and used it and hit the all small along with 4 points made. I was scared to bet and it was a $5 table and just playing $22 inside I walked with a $99 dollar profit. No pressing or anything lol ! I was like come on man someone give me a dollar so I have a nice even $100 ! I remember one time this guy put a $25 dollar tip in my rack. I was like what's this for? and he said don't worry about it keep rolling ! I was shocked.

There are practice sessions where I am tracking and others where I focus on betting. I found that I can't do both at the same time as it becomes too distracting. If I find myself in one of those funks where my toss is just not on for a couple of sessions, I'll abandon both and just toss. In all scenarios though, I'm paying close attention to my toss and even if I'm not tracking keeping some sort of mental note of how well I'm staying on axis.

I think this is something that alot of guys neglect once they start betting and tracking. I had a buddy that was really struggling with his toss. I told him to stop betting on every toss and just work on his toss. Still focus on every toss like it was a live game but just focus on tossing. Anytime i think i have figured out an importance aspect whether it be stance, grip, launch position i make a note in my phone to refer back to. If you practice alot it can be easy to gradually get away from your best form.

well I don't ever worry about the betting part. 3 hits and then it's collect and press on the numbers ! However, since my win goal is only $100 bucks a day it's 5 hits and down for me. $100 x 30 days=3000 . and if I do have a few losing days I make out alright. More often than not I hit the 5 rolls, so far.

wow, all of the above are why I think of what I do as separate events, the change in my focus. but why do I think I shoot better when I not thinking about anything? i started using 18 pairs of dice last season. makes tracking a breeze. all i worry about is am I better or worse than random.

Was watching a video of Howard "rock and roller". He stated all he wanted to do was hit numbers. Not worried about ats or changing sets to hit the ats or sniping for a point. Just rolling and not thinking about anything else. If roll is long enough, you'll hit those numbers eventually anyways. I remember making a shot when I played basketball. I was zoned in and it was like I was alone, couldn't hear anything and only saw the basket I was concentrating on. I do the same thing when I roll. Get into a zone and hopeful;ly keep the dice for a couple of hours ! lol actually just want my five rolls =)

I think you have to come out of the “zone” to bet/press.

Howard recently had a big hand in Biloxi and I’m sure he pressed along the way (at least I hope so). A baseball pitcher gets in the zone when he steps on the rubber; in between pitches he’s resting.

As for the ATS, change sets. The golfer doesn’t use the same club for every shot, and every shot counts. Changing is a good thing, train yourself to do it, DN8R

I went into the casino one morning and the dealer asked me if I wanted to play on the ats, I told him I just woke up and I'll wait to see how I roll. Using the hardway set I hit all small and all tall during that roll. Point being I'm really shooting for box numbers to make money with a $100 win goal. On a ten roll only 2 or 3 are craps numbers the rest pay me. However, say like on my 18 roll at boomtown , I would have usually taken my money down after 5 rolls, but was feeling good and decided to play it out. So I walked away with 2x's my win goal. I understand what you are saying about changing sets, and that's all well and good. But if my set is paying off I'm not likely to change it if my rolls are paying off. But I do have a low win goal. 100 x 30 = $3000 or 36k a year. Not bad for a couple hours work. Even if I have a couple losing days, still good money. Right now I average about 10 rolls before a 7. If I start averaging 20 or more rolls consistently then it's time to collect and press. So until my ssr goes up I'll stick with my $100 a day method.

Dear Olddog, think that sticking to your set is reasonable if it is paying. Prop bets and ATS bets are like frosting on cakes. Tastes good but the cake is point. I think your true insight is to accurately determine after 5 or so tosses whether you are "on" that day or "falling off." My quandary is that sometimes it takes me 5 or so tosses to "warm up" and get a rhythm going. Typically, this is where I am losing the most money.
Like I said, it's a quandary and if you have a handle on your "day" that is the talent that pays. IMHO

That's true. Those first tosses are mysterious to say the least . I'm lucky that I only live 15 min away from boomtown and the table I practice on reacts pretty close to the casino's table. So I throw a few hands before I go. And I still get butterflies in my stomach ! lol But once I hit that first box number I settle down. First time I went to the casino, my hand was shaking so bad I could hardly toss the dice.
